Purpose

This diploma is designed to prepare an individual for leadership in creative ministry in the local congregation, as well as to introduce an individual to drama in Christian contexts.

Objectives

Upon satisfactory completion the student will:

1. Possess an knowledge of the flow of Biblical History including both the Old and New Testaments
2. Demonstrate competency in interpreting and communicating the message of the Christian Scriptures
3. Be prepared to minister cooperatively with others in the area of creative ministries
4. Understand the process of rehearsal and production so that he / she will be able to implement drama as a ministry in a variety of settings
5. Be able to utilize both original and scripted dramatic pieces which teach and enlighten audiences about the gospel, our relationship with God, as well as the human condition
6. Have toured at least once during the program with a drama troupe
7. Possess an aesthetic appreciation of the Arts in our culture
8. Strive to accomplish high quality creative ministry that is relevant to our culture and to the church
9. Possess a level of discipline and consecration in Christ, including the areas of personal prayer and Bible study, which are necessary to live the Christ-like life
10. Demonstrate a willingness to serve God and people

This diploma is offered in partnership with Fire Exit Theatre who provides opportunities
for students to be involved in productions.
