Purpose
This Diploma is offered uniquely through the PACE (Professional Adult Career Education) program and is designed to equip learners 25 years old and over with the biblical foundation and counselling skills / resources with the following goals:- Lay the groundwork for graduate studies in Counselling
- Prepare for associate ministry positions where strong skills are needed in pastoral care
- Prepare for employment in para-counselling and care ministries and organizations
- Provide foundational counselling skills for pastors who wish to enlarge their skills and resources in pastoral counselling and care
- Prepare for careers requiring a non-specific college degree, where relational skills are an asset
Objective
Adults completing the PACE Program in Counselling & Ministry will:- Have a clear understanding of their goals, their mission for life derived from an explored faith in God, and skills to accomplish these
- Possess and be able to articulate a biblical worldview
- Be able to relate biblical, theological and historical truths to their own life decisions and to those touched by their care-giving ministry
- Apply the character, values and compassion necessary for Christian care-giving consistently in their lives
- Have demonstrated these skills in a practical ministry setting
Degree Requirements
To graduate with a Diploma in Counselling & Ministry, you must complete the following requirements:- Complete 51 semester hours in the PACE Program in Counselling & Ministry with a grade of “C” or better in each course.
- Complete both the Counselling Research Project and Counselling Practicum.
- Fulfill all financial obligations to the College.
