As a professor, the question I ask my students every class is: “So what?” This is not I implying that what I share with them is non-essential; it is me asking them: “So, what are you, personally, going to do with this information?”
Our theme this year is “Unhindered Faith.” Let’s define faith along with the writer of Hebrews as “being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see” (11:1 NIV). What then is the significance of the adjective “unhindered” in our theme?
For the last number of months I have been revisiting my experience of my dad and brother Alan suffering and dying. I haven’t done this so I could get stuck in the past or for the joy of reliving the emotions but because I have wanted to understand it better, specifically how it changed my understanding of God.
