ZAC'S TESTIMONIAL
My name is Zac Eagle. I studied at ABC from 2015 – 2020. I graduated with a B.A. in Leadership & Ministry.
Why did you choose to study at ABC?
The PACE program was the primary draw for me. I had been involved in various forms of vocational ministry throughout my adult life, including youth pastoring, addiction recovery ministry, and even church planting. However, my degree was unfinished. After years of practical ministry experience, I wanted to enhance my formal education.
How did ABC help you accomplish your goal(s)?
The PACE program offered a degree completion track with a flexible format that accommodated my family and work responsibilities. My time at ABC also served as a launching pad into a new season of pastoral ministry in Yellowknife, NT.
What were the highlights and most valuable aspects of your time at ABC?
The brightest highlight from my time at ABC was the relationships I formed with my PACE cohort. Going through the program with a group comprised of so many different ethnicities, denominational backgrounds, and varied ministry and life experiences was an unexpected and valuable benefit.
Were there any classes or professors that stood out, or particularly impactful assignments?
“The Life and Teachings of Jesus” was especially impactful on my personal relationship with Jesus. Class after class, I felt as if I had been to church more than to a classroom; Jesus became more real and central to me than ever before. In terms of practical ministry, “The Art of Preaching and Teaching” helped refine an existing gift and ministry I was already engaged in. Steve McMillan and Roger Helland were both fantastic professors. Steve, in particular, became my connection to the Yellowknife Church of Christ, where I have pastored for the last nine years.
What are you doing now, and what impact has studying at ABC had on your life, career, and ministry?
I am currently the lead pastor at the Yellowknife Church of Christ. I also recently served as the Chair of the Yellowknife Christian Ministerial Association. My time at ABC taught me to refine my reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. My classes confirmed my calling and giftings, enabling me to confidently step into the demanding yet rewarding, world of pastoral ministry.

Would you recommend ABC to future students?
I would gladly recommend ABC to anyone who desires to learn more about God, His redemption story, and how to be formed into the image of His beloved Son. That type of learning invariably prepares anyone for whatever their next may be.
